As part of the 2023-2024 Culture Days, Lévis is performing at L'Anglicane,

that we were given the opportunity to discover Mario Pronovost, singer-songwriter, originally from Lévis. We were charmed by the maturity

and originality of his material. The first notes quickly revealed to us

an experienced artist in full possession of his art. Of undeniable professionalism, on stage, Mario was attentive and generous towards

the public, essential qualities for the shared moment! In short, an artist

to discover without a doubt !

“Don’t Let Me Fall” The first listen was quite surprising. Sound quality,

choice of your musical acolytes, as well as the photo direction, immediately testified to your professionalism. First of all, we were shocked to see how

much you master the guitar!!! Impressive.

The lyrics “Hear my voice” and “I pray for women” about your grand mothers are as touching as they are stunning. Your voice is warm and enveloping, particularly in the lower registers. We love it! The text of “Slow Dance” is thought-provoking and sets the record straight... it makes good. Finally our favorite is without a doubt “MY GYPSY ROAD”!!! The intensity, the rhythm,

the emotion, the progression of the movement, the catchy riffs, everything

I love the album “Don’t Let Me Fall”, your voice sometimes reminds me

of Leonard Cohen’s style, which I love. I find the themes of the songs

and the album descriptions are superb. “Lily,” the found dog is an original

and superbly touching story. Your family ties, your roots are also very beautiful even if you address certain sad subjects and were sometimes devastating to your family. I love certain choruses like “Night Flight” which

is very catchy !

The theme song remains one of my favorites as well as all the moments where you sing with two magnificent female voices! However, my favorite remains: “My Gypsy Road.” Plus, knowing that it describes your personality

is very interesting because the music is simply superb.

Just chilling to the music of my friend, Mario Pronovost, after a drive back

from Sheffield. To cut a very long story short, the car had a little

bit of a crisis on one of the Pennine Hills... lots of revs-no action. I had to

get out and push uphill to a lay-by on the opposite side of the road.

Years of dead lifting and squatting finally paid off, and the car re-started

without incident after a rest. but now I'm recovering.

I suspect my bones will take a little bit more time. So it was good to come home to find his CD « Don’t Let Me Fall » in the post. Sophisticated, tasteful guitar arrangements, underlying original songs, served up with a fine tenor voice. Merci ! Mario. T'es également poète, philosophe et musicien.
